The Precision Instrument edgewise bargraph meters are suitable for boiler drum level indication and control. The typical input from a compensated drum level system is 4 to 20mADC and the optional relay outputs can be used to trigger alarms or pumps to help maintain an adequate boiler level as steam is released into the system. Compensation for shrink and swell should be taken into account by other control systems.

The Precision Instrument P180 and P216 are excellent boiler drum level indicators with their automatic color changing LED bargraph display and analog re-transmission of either 0 to +/- 24mA or 0 to +/- 10VDC.

The Precision Instrument Company's new P216 is a form and fit replacement, tri-color bargraph, for the Hayes Republic 216, Ametek-Dixson BK051 and BT071 as well as some Weschler Instruments BD-101 series units. The P216 comes with a full 5 digit numeric display and has optional 9-36VDC or 90-265VAC / 110-370VDC power input. Signal inputs can be Serial RS485, Analog VDC and resistance to include strain-gauge, thermocouple, RTD, Potentiometer and 4-20mADC current, True RMS and Frequency (Hz). Outputs are optional and include 4 each, 5 amp rated form A relays and a 16 bit isolated analog output with 0-20mA or -10VDC to +10VDC, both of which are scale able as desired.
